The 40+ Project

PRAXIS
2014

The 40+ Project is a collection of written and video interviews of people over the age of 40. 10 days before I turned 40 myself, it was my (impromptu) way of investigating, in a small way, what crossing the 40 threshold and life beyond that landmark is like. My original goal was to interview 20 men and 20 women but I was open to how this pet project organically developed and I ended up with the following 11 interviews, my first real experience at conducting and editing interviews. Daniel, one of the 40+ interviewees, agreed that the project came to a natural end when it did. He said, “It was supposed to lead you somewhere.”
